Strawberry Wisdom
Mission:
Strawberry Wisdom, Inc. is formed for the purpose of helping to promote and sustain the health and wellness of residents across New York State, with focus on Western New York and Hudson Valley, by offering support, guidance, capacity building and training in the delivery of restorative practices, storytelling approaches, and connection to land-based practices that uplift mental health and strengthen community connections.
“Strawberry Wisdom” is inspired in part by Krissy’s great grandmother Clara, who, after participating in Carlisle Indian Boarding School, wrote a letter responding to an inquiry sent out by the School after her graduation. Krissy subsequently found this letter. In it, she expressed her desire to send her friends who were still at the school strawberries.
In the Haudenosaunee Confederacy’s cultural cosmovision, strawberries play an important role. They are the “leaders of the fruit” in the Words Before All Else (aka The Thanksgiving Address). A native plant whose fruits have long nurtured the People of the Longhouse, the strawberry is recognized to be powerful heart medicine.
The programs and offerings of Strawberry Wisdom are thus orientated towards heart medicine.
Upcoming:
The Morbie Project
THE MORBIES PROJECT
MORBIES is a plain‑language way to name the “Morbie moment” when grief around death (both impending and that post-death moment) collides with institutional frozen systems—and to solve it.
The MORBS framework turns that chaos into parallel action: one track for care, one for unfreezing finances, devices, and accounts, paced by seasonal checkpoints and guided by diverse prompts.
Outcome: shared clarity, fewer roadblocks, and a practical path that participants - from individuals to families to friendship networks - can actually walk.
When death comes into your life - either expected or unexpected - you may wonder - is anyone else experiencing a lot of, um, Morbid Grounds?
You may find yourself asking - anyone else … GOT THE MORBS?
We get it.
Coming soon… a beautiful booklet and support for engaging with all the institutional shtuff around death.
